Started at Red Dragon coding websites ranging from simple static sites to full e-commerce solutions using PHP, CSS, HTML and Javascript amongst others. Working closely with other staff and clients to produce bespoke systems.

Joined a small company based in Stowting building and developing websites using PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript. Working as part of a team to create corporate websites to reflect brand values.

Successfully launched and continue to run a small web design and development company offering a variety of services including designing, building, testing, hosting and maintainence of websites. This has given me an insight into the running of a business and has shown me the importance of time planning and project management. Teaching swimming to various age groups and abilities. I have learned a great deal about planning as well as imparting knowledge and giving feedback to both groups and individuals.

Duties include lifeguard for the swimming pools and working as a team in emergency situations and the rigging of sports equipment.

Skills
Programming: Fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery), PHP, Python, MySQL and Java.
Operating systems: Proficient with Windows XP, Mac OS X, some UNIX knowledge.
Software packages: Microsoft Office, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and version control (Subversion).

Interests and activities
Sport: As well as teaching I regularly swim myself and have take part in the Marie Curie Swimathon event each year. In the summer I also enjoy cycling and walking.
Photography: I enjoy experimenting with photographic techniques as well as taking pictures of events and outings in my life. Some of my pictures can be seen on my pictures page.
Music: I listen regularly to a wide variety of music while I am working and relaxing. I used to play the clarinet with Dover Music Centre and have toured to Poland with them in 2002.
